“Audre Lorde – The Berlin Years” is a wonderful Kwanzaa / Christmas / Chanukah present!

Since the Premiere at the International Berlin Film Festival in February 2012, the film has toured the world: five continents, 21 countries, 50 festivals and more than 100 other screenings! —at women’s projects, academic conferences, political organizations and universities. To name a few places, aside from Germany and the United States—and thanks to the DVD's Spanish and French subtitles—it was viewed in Accra, Ankara, Belgrade, Brussels, Geneva, Lisbon, London, Marseille, Montréal, Paris, Rome, Sydney, Tel Aviv, Toronto, Vienna and Zürich; and recently in Caribbean and South American capitals: Havana, Mexico City, Georgetown, Montevideo and Quito.

The film has received four awards from festivals in Barcelona and Zaragoza (Spain), Palm Springs and New York (USA).

Audre Lorde’s daughter, Elizabeth Lorde-Rollins, said: “...this film does a great job of showing Audre Lorde fighting fiercely, Audre Lorde galvanizing a movement and reveling in the work of her Afro-German sisters, and Audre Lorde dancing, laughing, and loving in what proved to be the last years of her life.
